In February of 2009, Griffin Construction won the job for a timber frame renovation in the historic Town Hall in Langdon, NH in a competitive, sealed bid process. We were required to repair an oak collar in the attic and a perform reconstruction on a rotten rafter beam, post and top sill.

Renovation was completed to the bell tower of the Langdon Congregational Church in Langdon, NH. Griffin Construction removed the roof of the tower down to the framing and the rotten trim overhang. The sheathing and roof trim were replaced and rubber roofing was installed. The spires and decorative trim detail were rebuilt as a duplicate of the originals.

Langdon, NH is proud to announce that the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance has distinguished the meeting house by including it in its 2008 list of Seven To Save most important historic structures in the state. The Alliance aims to draw attention and resources to irreplaceable New Hampshire landmarks. By match grants, the Town of Langdon has raised 1/5 of what is needed to fully rehabilate the Town Hall.

The Town of Langdon will receive a governor's commendation in recognition of its holding 206 consecutive town meetings in the Town Hall. This record cannot be beaten by any other town in the state of New Hampshire.

The Town Hall of Langdon needs a stable foundation, a new furnace, approved handicapped accessible ramp, operatable windows, electrical and lighting upgrades, and so much more. The Langdon Heritage Commission is looking to plan projects for numerous historic studies, fundraisers and more.
